How to make sure your delivery goes smoothly
We’ve prepared this guide to make sure that your delivery goes as smoothly as possible. Please take
a few moments to read it carefully, and give us a call if you have any concerns.
1. Being ready when we arrive
We will contact you by phone and provide your confirmed delivery rate and time slot. Please make
sure there is someone at the delivery address to accept, sign for and inspect the good when we
arrive.
2. Gaining access to your property
These are some of the main reasons why deliveries don’t go to plan. Think about whether any of
these apply to you and if you think they do or you’re not too sure, then don’t hesitate to give us a call
for advice.
Is your property above ground floor? All deliveries will be two-man deliveries. We only deliver to
ground floor properties / communal areas (up to 4 steps is fine)
Have you ordered a large item? Appliances such as Range cookers and American fridge freezers
won’t fit through a standard width doorway; they typically require double doors i.e. patio doors for
access
Are there yellow lines or other parking restrictions on your road? If a permit is required please
supply this for us.
Is your property difficult to find? Is it a down a narrow lane, or is it a new build which might be
invisible to a sat nav?
If there are access difficulties which prevent our driver from delivering the goods into your
property, then you can always request that we drop the items off into a garage, for you to take
inside yourself at your own convenience.
3. Avoiding damage to your property
Many kitchen furniture items and electrical appliances are bulky and heavy. Our highly experienced
delivery personnel’s will take as much care as possible to avoid any damage when bringing items
into your property. But to help out, please make sure that they have unobstructed access to the
place you want your goods left, and that any floor surfaces which might be liable to damage are
covered as no claims can be made for damage caused to unprotected flooring/carpets. Please note
that the delivery team are forbidden to remove any safety clothing including footwear.
The team will attempt to deliver to the desired room of choice but if the delivery team that the
item(s) cannot be physically manoeuvred without causing damage to the product or property, they
will inform you of this matter and offer to leave item(s) in a safe place or alternative room in the
property.
4. Damaged or faulty items
Please contact us within 14 days , together with a photograph of the damage and the white label on
the item where possible if the damage has not been highlighted by Rehome/Nobilia previously,
taking into consideration this is an ex-display kitchen and previous wear and tear is likely. We’ll
arrange for a replacement as soon as possible if the product is not discontinued and it has been
determined that the damage was not previously highlighted, taking into consideration Nobilia will not
cover general wear and tear of ex-display kitchens. Given the age of the appliances provided they
no longer have a warranty attached to them, if an item is faulty, Nobilia will not be responsible in
ensuring it is in full working condition and the consumer accepts this risk.
5. Unforeseen circumstances
Despite our best efforts, occasionally there will be extraordinary circumstances which prevent us
from turning up on time with your goods.
Things such as traffic accidents, extreme weather, vehicle breakdowns or just plain old human error
might prevent us from getting the right goods to you, undamaged and on time.
This is why we strongly advise our customers not to book kitchen fitters until the goods are in
your possession and you’ve inspected them.
6. Cancelled deliveries
A one-off cancellation of delivery can be requested, without charge up to 72 hours before delivery if
re-arranged at a point of request. Any subsequent cancellations will be subject to a cancellation fee
of £300 and will then incur storage charges of £150 for each week from date to cancellation.
