Customer stories
Before & After

May told us that she wanted her new kitchen to be practical as well as beautiful. Her career as a personal nutritionist has seen her and her home featured in Daily Mail, Ideal Home and Channel 4’s Escape to the Chateau DIY, with the development of her Yoga retreat, Chateau de la Vigne. Her kitchen is the backdrop for many of her insta famous cooking demos and moreover, her busy social life means it needed to also be functional and elegant. A kitchen to be proud of.
With style and substance being the order of the day, she found them both in a beautiful in frame Martin Moore kitchen we were promoting on Instagram.
We are extremely lucky to work with customers like May and to witness the most jaw dropping kitchen transformations. It will never cease to amaze us how; with a little bit of creativity and configuration you can revolutionise an approved used or ex display kitchen. However, sometimes the most impressive changes are when there’s hardly any change at all, and a buyer can slot it into a new home as if it’s been plucked from Pinterest or a showroom brochure.
May’s kitchen is the perfect example of this – it was almost a hand in glove fit. We caught up with May post instillation ask her about her experience.

How did you find Rehome?
I had put a deposit down on a new kitchen back in March 2020 just before lockdown hit. Thankfully I was able to cancel but this was obviously a disappointment. The kitchen project was very much on my mind, but I was hearing horror stories that prices had skyrocketed, there was a shortage of materials and significant delays. So reluctantly the project went on the backburner. Then one day I was scrolling through social media, like you do, and an amazing Martin Moore kitchen popped into my feed. It was for sale and available immediately, all whilst saving me £70,000 on the price of new. It was a no brainer, I had to take a look.
So, I had found my dream kitchen at an amazing price, but I didn’t have any plans to get going again with my kitchen project, nor did I have a builder on standby. Nevertheless, I quickly realised I had to make this happen, especially given the amount of money I was going to save. We called Rehome and arranged a viewing, but I have to say the photos and description were so accurate, I would have been equally confident to buy without viewing.
What were your kitchen design must haves?
I needed a big island and plenty of workspace. I often batch cook and was always running out of space in my previous kitchen. I also entertain a lot and don’t like missing out on the pre-dinner chat. Now that I have a gigantic island, I have the space to cook whilst still chatting with my guests.
Did you find any challenges along the way?
We weren’t ready for our kitchen in any way whatsoever, so we decided to hire a container and have the new kitchen sit on our driveway until we were. This gave us the breathing room to get everything arrange. The kitchen was then installed 3 months later. I was a woman on a mission!
What do you love about your new kitchen?
I genuinely love that I have a bargain! I would never have bought this kitchen new as it was so expensive. I have a beautiful kitchen that has had minimum use for a fraction of the price but also that I have rehomed it is heart-warming as I really care about the environment. Oh, and I forgot to add I now have the most amazing appliances too, which I love.

“Buying from Rehome just made sense; just think, a new Sub-Zero fridge would cost more than I paid for the whole kitchen"
What top tips would you give to anyone hoping to renovate their kitchen?
Consider Rehome as a first option. The savings make it a no brainer – it’s always worth a look If your dream kitchen comes along, don’t wait. Do what you can to make it work.
Remember, you won’t necessarily find what you’re looking for immediately, so keep checking in for as long as is necessary.
Be flexible and try to imagine the kitchen in a different configuration. The units are solid and come individually, so you can be more flexible and make them fit into your space.
Liaise with your builder or carpenter throughout as you’ll need to know what’s possible. Don’t be worried about paying extra to add extra pieces of cornicing, end panels etc. They are minor compared to the cost of the whole kitchen and will give it that truly fitted bespoke look!
